Missing Teatap

It’s been months (err.. almost a year) since the last time I went to Teatap. I have been missing their milk teas. Thanks to foursquare; I was able to track the last time I went there. It was August 2012. Where in the world have I been?

Janelle and I went there to kill time—mainly because she doesn’t want to be stuck in traffic after having dinner at La Creperie (a few steps away from Teatap). I didn’t mind because I just live in the neighborhood. We both ordered chocolate cheese mousse. It was my first time to try it because I’m so attached to their wintermelon milk tea.

My verdict? It has a delectable and distinctive taste—just with the right sweetness. The cheese mousse on top somehow reminds me of a local ice cream brand with quezo flavor. I think I’ll have another one soon. ;)

Charlie’s Grind and Grill

I’m always on the go—my family and friends know that for sure. If I have time, I would really go out with just one text/ call. It is one of the reasons why I ended up in Charlie’s Grind and Grill a couple of weeks ago. It was rather ironic that I haven’t tried this restaurant yet—it’s just in my neighborhood!

My verdict? The angus beef burger was heavenly! Don’t be fooled, The burger and fries were ideally made for sharing. Unless you have a really big appetite, or just plain hungry. Don’t forget to get the Aioli. It’s their best dressing!

Next on my list: Charlie’s unlimited pancakes! :)

Teatap

Tea houses have shaped a massive trend in the year 2011. At first, I was entirely revolted by this. I’m not a fan of teas; the only tea I sip was iced tea. I’m a fan of coffee shops and I think I have been in every coffee shop constructed in Manila. When tea trend came in, I doubt why are they making it big and I was wondering why teens flock them? I thought teas are supposed to be marketed to adults, right?

As my curiosity expanded, my desire to try it became stronger. I read reviews from bloggers and get to know what they order and the next thing I know, I’m a regular customer dropping by once or twice  a week tasting different drinks every visit.

Last week (yes, this is a backlog) I was able to try Teatap in Wilson, San Juan. Fifteen tumbling lang away sa bahay ko pero first time ko siya I try. I know, I’m late! And believe me, you don’t know how surprised I am when I entered their store.

Late night Chatime

After preparing the orders for our business, Elaine and I decided to reward ourselves with late night tea treat in Chatime Wilson, San Juan branch.

Though the interior is nice, I find the lighting too bright for a tea house.

We ordered Taro Milk Tea and Chocolate Mousse.

Can you see the stress in our faces? That happens when we focus too much on Quintessential Shop Manila :)

Rating: We’re still happy with Happy Lemon and still believes that its the best. At least we gave Chatime a shot! :)
